What is HS2 - Next Key Stages

The work to consult and arrive at a decision to proceed is planned to be completed by the end of 2011. Following that, a "hybrid" enabling bill will be taken through parliament for the present route to S Staffs' and the, yet to be announced, routes further north. Although funding the build phase has not been announced, HS2Ltd believe that construction could start as early as 2017.
