Welcome to SNAG. The South Northants Action Group against HS2

HS2 is the proposed high speed rail line from London via Birmingham to Manchester and Leeds. It is a new route cutting through huge areas of countryside & heritage sites along which 400kph trains will run at 3 minute intervals. SNAG believes in improvements to the UK's transport infrastructure, but opposes the Government's imposition of this route without proper consideration of the alternatives and the full engagement of the public in that process.

SNAG has three aims:

• Challenging the Government's case for HS2 & argue the case for Rail Package 2
• Keeping the district informed and involved
• Fighting for mitigation and compensation
